Thanksgiving Give-Away
2020 has been a crazy year, but there is much to be grateful for. We are partnering with El Monte Union High School District and Arroyo High School to provide a Thanksgiving Dinner give-away featuring herbs from the Farm Lab. Distribution to community members will be at the Arroyo High School parking lot on November 24th from 11am-2pm.
Farm Pantry

Program Updates
The Arroyo Farm Lab – Arroyo High School
Our Program Manager, Liz, continues to engage students through virtual garden club once a week and uploading educational garden videos on our Youtube Channel, Kids Gardening with Liz.
Eco Urban Gardens staff continue to care for the Farm Lab, cultivating soil, removing invasive weeds, fixing irrigation and distributing produce to the community.

Best of Thymes Garden – Rosemead High School
At Rosemead High, we added new garden beds, added timer controlled irrigation bubblers and have seeded winter crops like beets, kale, kohlrabi and radishes!
Students keep up to date on the garden during weekly virtual garden club meetings. During meetings students discuss how to distribute produce to the community, how to continue engaging the community during the pandemic and occasionally play online games for team building exercises!

Mountain View Orchard – Mountain View High School
The orchard continues to thrive during the pandemic as school maintenance staff and Eco Urban Garden staff maintain the health of fruit trees. Trees need regular irrigation assessment, stabilization, pruning and fertilization.
